Bloxorz unblocked: play Bloxorz online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.

Bloxorz is a puzzle about one awkward object: a rectangular block, two tiles long and one wide, that has to be rolled across a floating platform until it drops into a square hole. There is no timer and nothing chasing you. The only opponent is the block's own shape, and the only way to lose is to roll a piece of it off the edge.

The trick is that the block changes footprint as it moves. Standing on its end it covers a single tile; lying down it covers two. Every roll flips it between those states or shifts it sideways, so a route that looks like a straight line on the map is often impossible, and a route that looks like a detour is the answer. Levels are short, but a hard one can hold you for several minutes of staring before the solution clicks.

It is a natural companion to the physics puzzles on Icy Purple Head. Where those games let momentum do the work, this one is pure planning: you move, the block does exactly what you asked, and every mistake is yours. It runs in the browser with nothing to install.

How to play

Use the arrow keys to tip the block over one of its edges in that direction. The goal is the square hole in the platform, and the block only falls in when it arrives standing upright on its end. Lying flat over the hole does nothing.

The level layouts add a few tile types as you progress:

  • Plain tiles hold the block in any position.
  • Orange tiles are fragile. They carry the block lying down but give way if it stands on one end, so you must cross them flat.
  • Switches are pressure plates that open or close bridges elsewhere in the level. Some react to any touch, while heavier ones need the block standing upright on them.
  • Teleporters split the block into two single cubes in different places. In the versions that use them, you move one cube at a time and swap between them with the space bar, then bring them together to form the block again.

Each level counts your moves. Falling off the edge restarts the level, so a wrong step costs a few seconds rather than any progress. On a phone, use the on-screen controls if the page offers them; a keyboard is much easier.

Tips

  • Work backwards from the hole. Ask which tile the block must be standing on, upright, one roll before it falls in, and plan the approach to that tile.
  • Learn the rolling pattern. Three rolls in one direction takes a standing block exactly to where it began plus three tiles over, so you can measure distances in rolls before you commit.
  • Do not rush the fragile tiles. Decide whether you will cross them lying lengthwise before you step on them, because turning the block on the tile itself may be impossible.
  • If a level stalls, restart rather than trying to undo a bad position. A fresh start shows you the whole layout again.

Icy Purple Head: Super Slide is the site's headline game and rewards quicker reactions. Circloo and Sugar Sugar 2 keep the thinking style but swap the block for drawing and physics. Red Ball 4 is a good pick if you want to mix in some platforming, and Nuts and Bolts and Heart Star are further puzzles that use small, clever setups.

Bloxorz suits short breaks and long ones alike, since you can stop after any level, and it is a fine choice if you like puzzles that you can solve on paper before touching the keyboard.

Questions about Bloxorz

Is Bloxorz unblocked at school?

Bloxorz runs in an ordinary browser tab from icypurplehead.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

How do I control the block in Bloxorz?

Use the arrow keys to roll the block over an edge in that direction. When the level has two separate cubes, the space bar switches between them.

How do I finish a level?

Roll the block so that it stands upright on its end directly over the square hole. Lying flat over the hole does not count.

What are the orange tiles?

Orange tiles are fragile. The block can cross them lying down, but if it stands upright on one, the tile breaks and you fall.

Does Bloxorz work on a phone or Chromebook?

It runs in any modern browser with nothing to install, but the game is built around the keyboard, so a laptop or Chromebook is easier than a phone.
